A l’occasion de Inter Screen, œuvre collective présentée lors du festival Futur en Seine 2011, nous faisons appel à la participation :
- d’avatars numériques
- issus de différents mondes (tels Second Life, World of Warcraft, Star Trek Online, Everquest... liste non exhaustive)
- ayant des postures existentielles et historiques variées (role play, responsabilité communautaire, exploration, performance, création, expérimentation identitaire, engagements culturels, activités professionnelles, etc.)
- souhaitant exprimer leur singularité et parler de leur vie très particulière au public
- étant curieux de rencontrer et d'échanger avec des être humains... pour la première fois !
- disponibles en journée quelques heures sur la période du 23 au 26 juin 2011, en relais avec les autres participants.
For the purpose of Inter Screen, a collaborative work presented during the 2011 Futur en Seine festival, we are calling in to participate:
- Digital avatars
- Who come from a variety of digital worlds (such as Second Life, World of Warcraft, Star Trek Online, Everquest... the list goes on)
- Adopting various existential and historical stances (role playing, community management, exploration, performance, creation, identity experimentation, cultural involvement, professional activities, etc.)
- wishing to express their singularity and to talk about their very special lives to the public
- curious of meeting and exchanging with actual human beings... for the very first time!
- available for a couple hours during the day over the period running from the 23rd to the 26th of June 2011, in relay with the other participants.
INTER SCREEN
Ce dispositif d’échanges inter-mondes met en relation des entités numériques (les avatars) et des êtres biologiques (les visiteurs de l’espace d’exposition). Son enjeu :
- permettre aux avatars (comme aux êtres humains) de témoigner de leur existence à part entière
- favoriser entre eux une curiosité mutuelle et une meilleure compréhension
- permettre aux avatars (comme aux êtres humains) de témoigner de leur existence à part entière

Les avatars retenus accepteront de se connecter à la plateforme Second Life pour bénéficier du système de communication basé sur une messagerie instantanée et un flux vidéo.
This cross-worlds exchanges device allows digital entities (the avatars) and biological beings (the visitors of the exhibition) to interact. Its aim is:
- to allow avatars (and human beings as well) to testify of their very own existence
- to encourage mutual curiosity and better understanding between them
The retained avatars will agree to log into the Second Life platform as to benefit from its communication system, based on instant messaging coupled with a video stream.
CONDITIONS
Les avatars s’engageront à :
- faire preuve de vraisemblance et de créativité ;
- ne parler qu’en leur nom propre, sans référence à la personne qui les anime ou au joueur qui les manipule ;
- établir un dialogue par chat et visioconférence avec le public de l’installation ;
- respecter les principes légaux d’une relation à distance dans un espace public ;
- accepter l’archivage des conversations en vue de valorisations ultérieures (anonymisation possible).
The avatars will make sure to :
- be convincing and to express creativity ;
- only speak in their own name, without any reference to the actual person controlling them ;
- establish a dialogue, via chat and video conference, with the public of the exhibition ;
- respect the legal implications pertaining a distant relationship being exposed in the public space ;
- agree to the recording of all the conversations they might entertain with the public (those records can be made anonymous on request).
